Websites built by hand, one at a time

A website for a local business in Chennai works when it loads in under two seconds on a phone, shows prices without being asked, and puts a WhatsApp button under the reader’s thumb. Everything else is secondary.

A one-page site here is a single self-contained HTML file. No framework, no external stylesheets, no font downloads from another server, no plugins that need patching. The whole page arrives in one request, which is why the demo salon build transfers 7.5 KB and starts painting in 0.15 seconds.

It also means there is nothing to break while you are not looking. A WordPress site with nine plugins needs updating monthly and breaks when you skip it. A single HTML file does not.
