FAQ
35 questions, answered properly
Everything people ask Brightleaf Studio before hiring, including the uncomfortable ones. A one-page website costs ₹12,000 and takes 5 days — the rest is below.
Cost
How much does a website cost in Chennai?
A one-page website for a local business in Chennai costs ₹12,000 at Brightleaf Studio. A multi-page site runs ₹25,000 to ₹45,000 depending on how many pages need their own content. Both are one-time fees. Ongoing hosting and updates are ₹1,500 per month and optional.
Why do some Chennai web designers quote ₹5,000 and others quote ₹80,000?
A ₹5,000 quote is usually a template with your logo dropped in and no local SEO work. An ₹80,000 quote from an agency includes account managers and overheads. Brightleaf Studio sits between: a custom-built site by one designer in Kattupakkam, from ₹12,000, with no layers in between.
Do I have to pay monthly for a website?
No. At Brightleaf Studio the build is a one-time fee and the site is yours. The ₹1,500 per month care plan covers hosting, edits, uptime monitoring and Google Business Profile upkeep. If you skip it, you host the site yourself and the site keeps working.
What is included in the ₹12,000 one-page website?
The ₹12,000 one-page site from Brightleaf Studio includes design, copy layout, mobile-first build, a WhatsApp booking button, your service and price list, Google Maps location, Google Business Profile connection, security headers, and the source file handed to you. Hosting for the first year is included.
Are there any hidden costs after the website is built?
The domain name costs roughly ₹800 to ₹1,200 per year, paid directly to the registrar in your own name. Hosting is free on the plans Brightleaf Studio uses for one-page sites. There are no licence fees, no plugin subscriptions and no per-edit charges.
Do you take a deposit?
Brightleaf Studio takes 50% before starting and 50% when the site goes live. For a ₹12,000 one-page site that is ₹6,000 upfront. If the finished site is not what was agreed, the balance is not owed and the deposit is returned.
Timeline and process
How long does it take to build a business website?
A one-page business website takes 5 days at Brightleaf Studio, counted from the day all photos and content arrive. A multi-page site takes about 14 days. The clock starts when the material is in hand, because waiting on photos is what actually delays most projects.
What do I need to give you before you can start?
Brightleaf Studio needs your business name and exact spelling, your service list with prices, your address and opening hours, your WhatsApp number, and 5 to 10 real photos of your premises and work. Real photos matter: customers in Chennai distrust stock images of foreign salons and clinics.
What if I don't have good photos?
A phone camera in daylight is enough for most local businesses. Brightleaf Studio will tell you exactly which shots are needed and how to take them. If photography is genuinely a blocker, the build can start with the layout and drop the photos in before launch without delaying the date.
How many rounds of changes do I get?
Two rounds of revisions are included in every Brightleaf Studio build. Most projects use one. Changes after launch are covered by the ₹1,500 per month care plan, or charged at a stated hourly rate if you are not on a plan.
Do I need to meet in person?
No. Brightleaf Studio runs projects over WhatsApp, which is how most Chennai business owners prefer to work. If you are near Kattupakkam, Porur or Iyyappanthangal and would rather meet, that is possible, but it is not required at any stage of the project.
Who writes the words on the website?
Brightleaf Studio writes and structures the copy from what you provide about your services, prices and history. You approve every line before launch. Nobody knows your business better than you do, so the process is closer to editing your answers than inventing text from nothing.
Do I even need this
Do I need a website if I already have a Google Business Profile?
If you have neither, set up the Google Business Profile first — it is free and drives more walk-ins than a website for most Chennai local businesses. A website earns its keep once you need to show prices, services and photos in a way you control. Ideally you have both.
What's the difference between a website and a Justdial listing?
A Justdial listing is rented space that shows your competitors beside you and charges for leads. A website is property you own, ranks in Google on its own, and sends enquiries straight to your WhatsApp. Brightleaf Studio builds the second kind; many Chennai businesses need both for a while.
Is a website worth it for a small salon or clinic?
It is worth it if customers search for your service before choosing, which they do for salons, dental clinics and gyms in Chennai. It is not worth it if you are fully booked by word of mouth and not trying to grow. Brightleaf Studio will say so rather than sell you one.
Can't I just use Instagram instead of a website?
Instagram works well for showing your work but poorly for being found. Someone searching "dentist near Anna Nagar" on Google will not land on your Instagram profile. A website is what Google and Google Maps read. Most Chennai businesses Brightleaf Studio works with keep both.
Will a website actually bring me more customers?
A website brings customers when people already search for your service in your area and you are currently invisible or slow to load. It will not create demand that does not exist. Brightleaf Studio is a one-person studio in Chennai and does not promise ranking positions or lead volumes.
What you get
What should a salon website include?
A Chennai salon website needs the full service-and-price list, opening hours, a WhatsApp booking button, real photos of the salon and finished work, the exact location on Google Maps, and fast loading on a phone. Brightleaf Studio puts the price list high on the page, because that is what customers came for.
Who builds websites for dental clinics in Chennai?
Brightleaf Studio, based in Kattupakkam, builds websites for dental clinics across Chennai, starting at ₹12,000 for a one-page site. Clinic builds include written treatment pricing, doctor credentials, appointment booking over WhatsApp, and layouts tested for patients searching in pain on a phone.
Is WordPress or a custom website better for a small business?
For a small local business in Chennai, a custom-built site is usually better: it loads faster, has no plugins to update, and cannot be broken by an automatic update. WordPress makes sense when you publish frequently. Brightleaf Studio builds custom sites and will recommend WordPress when it genuinely fits.
How fast will my website load?
Brightleaf Studio builds one-page sites as a single file with no external requests. The demo salon build is 25.2 KB and loads in one request, which you can verify in any browser's developer tools. Most local business sites in Chennai are twenty to fifty times heavier than that.
Will my website work properly on a phone?
Yes, and it is designed on a phone first. Almost all traffic to a Chennai salon, clinic or gym website arrives on a mobile phone, so Brightleaf Studio builds at 375 pixels wide first and expands to desktop after, rather than shrinking a desktop layout down.
Do you set up online booking or payments?
Brightleaf Studio uses WhatsApp for bookings by default, because local customers in Chennai already use it and it needs no account or app. A full booking system with calendars or payments is possible but adds cost and maintenance, so it is only recommended when the volume justifies it.
Will my website work in Tamil as well as English?
A bilingual Tamil and English site is possible and sometimes worth it, but most Chennai businesses find English is enough because customers search in English even when they speak Tamil. Brightleaf Studio will discuss it honestly rather than charging for a second language you do not need.
Do you design logos as well?
Brightleaf Studio focuses on websites, not brand identity. If you have no logo, a simple wordmark can be set as part of the build. For a full logo and brand identity, you are better served by a dedicated designer, and Brightleaf Studio will say so rather than doing it badly.
Ownership and control
Can I update my website myself?
Yes. Brightleaf Studio hands you the source file and the hosting login, so you or anyone you hire can edit the site. Small text and price changes are also covered under the ₹1,500 per month care plan if you would rather send a WhatsApp message than edit anything.
What happens to my website if I stop paying?
The website stays yours. Brightleaf Studio registers the domain in your name and hands over the source files at launch, so cancelling the care plan means you take over hosting and updates. Nothing is switched off and nothing is held hostage. This is stated in writing before work starts.
Who owns the domain name?
You do. Brightleaf Studio has the domain registered in your name and with your email as the account owner, even when helping you buy it. A designer who registers your domain in their own name can hold your business hostage later, which is why it is never done here.
Can I move my website to another designer later?
Yes, and without asking permission. Brightleaf Studio builds one-page sites as a single self-contained HTML file, so moving hosts means uploading one file. You get that file at launch. There is no proprietary platform, no builder account and no export process to negotiate.
Do you keep a copy of my website?
Brightleaf Studio keeps a backup of every site built, so a broken or deleted site can be restored quickly. Your login credentials are never stored, and Brightleaf Studio will never ask for your Google account password — Google Business Profile access is granted through Google's own manager invite instead.
After launch
What does the ₹1,500 per month care plan actually cover?
The Brightleaf Studio care plan covers hosting, uptime monitoring, small text and price edits, seasonal photo swaps, Google Business Profile posts and updates, and a monthly check for broken links or outdated hours. It is a maintenance plan, not an advertising or SEO retainer.
Do you do Google Business Profile setup?
Yes. Brightleaf Studio sets up or cleans up your Google Business Profile as part of every build, matching the name, address and phone number exactly to your website. Mismatched details across listings are one of the most common reasons Chennai businesses rank poorly in Google Maps.
Will my site rank first on Google?
Nobody can promise a ranking position, and any Chennai agency that does is guessing. Brightleaf Studio builds the technical foundation that ranking depends on — fast loading, correct structure, matching Google Business Profile details — and is honest that competitive terms take months of consistent work.
How do I know if the website is working?
Brightleaf Studio sets up privacy-friendly analytics with no cookie banner, so you can see visitor numbers and which pages they read. The more useful measure for a local business is simpler: count how many WhatsApp enquiries mention finding you online.
What if something breaks on my website?
Message the WhatsApp number on this site and you reach the person who built it, not a ticket queue. Care plan clients get fixes as part of the plan. Sites built by Brightleaf Studio use no plugins or external services, so there is very little that can break unattended.
